Research
A great deal of research over the last decade has produced a diverse library of surface modification chemistries for the functionalization of semiconductor, metallic and magnetic nanoparticles, largely directed at the interaction of these materials with biological targets. My work in the Jin group focuses on the modification of superparamagnetic metal ferrites (Fe3O4, CoFe2O4, etc.) with metal ion coordinating ligands studying their interactions with other inorganic and biological substituents.
